Some years ago I created a Python bot to take an RSS feed from my blog and post it to the pnut.io social network.

Nowadays I post directly from my blog to Mastodon using WordPress tools. But I just scratched the urge to post my Reddit post submissions to Mastodon.

And so, ‘rssupdatemasto‘ was born.

It’s written to take a single RSS feed from Reddit – my post submissions – and post the one most recent to my Mastodon account.

My intention is to setup a cron job to run the script to check the feed every few hours. But for now it runs only manually. On my ancient laptop.
